Unfortunately SAMA has been hijacked by Hamas terrorist-supporting elements and has fallen prey to nonsense propaganda. Just like the “neutral” Red Cross that has never visited a single hostage in Gaza.
I’m a doctor not a member of SAMA and their action is a pathetic nasty last ditch political effort to be heard. Another mistake in the international circus to condemn Israel I hope there will be some reply from other sources.
Thank you for addressing this very urgent matter. I am a Jewish Dr and resigned from them immediately. They did not consult us and they made a unilateral political decision. A total disgrace. But- are you surprised…
What a spineless spokesperson for an organisation trying to put the ANC spin on a ridiculous decision taken without consulting their large membership base, many of whom are Jewish and no doubt many more in disagreement with these kinds of decisions.
Yet another “comrade” captured organisation.
I would hope all their Jewish doctor members will now resign.
Well done, Howard, for not letting her get away with ignoring the real issues here, especially not even mentioning the hostages.

Jews have helped a lot during the dark days of apartheid. Some of us who have been very close to the Jewish community over the years, are saddened by the action of those who benefited from this community during the dark days. There were Jewish doctors who helped people from townships who were shot by the apartheid police in those years.
How soon can other people conveniently forget.
In August 2024 I was in Israel and fell ill . I consulted a state health clinic as a private patient and had to pay a fee. Then a nurse checked my blood pressure and temperature. She was an Arab Israeli. Then a doctor examined me . His name was Mahmud. An Arab Israeli. Aged mid 30 s. Working at the clinic and also studying towards qualifying as a surgeon. He was excited to hear i am from Cape Town as he has been to Cape Town. All so friendly and efficient. The S A state public health service and SAMA should be learning from the Israel public national health service instead of breaking off relations.
Just like they failed on the Niko issue they are now confused as to where the evil is seated. Hamas are responsible for the disaster in Gaza, for the heinous crimes committed on the 7/10 and to the hostages, and now even to the people of Gaza. I was never a SAMA member and never will be.
