This is wonderful to hear. I deal with many detrans people. The affirmation model is an grossly ineffective approach with dramatic iatrogenic harm being caused. Anecdotal stories of trans people being “happy” is misleading. South Africa cannot afford to open the doors to a victimology that will cripple some of the most vulnerable people. Transition rates could be epidemic due to the homophobia and inequality in SA.
