The condition of the terrorist prisoner Walid Daqa, who was sentenced to life in prison for his involvement in the 1984 kidnapping and murder of IDF soldier Moshe Tamam, has improved.
The terrorist was transferred on Thursday morning to the Israel Prison Service medical center after he was discharged from Assaf Harofeh Hospital.
Following the terrorist’s release, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir ordered the Prisons Service not to grant the prisoner any privileges.
According to sources, Minister Ben-Gvir ordered the Prisons Authority to act sternly toward Daqa and not to give him special treatment. The minister said, “If it were up to me, Daqa would be on the electric chair, but the minimum we can do for the Tamam family and the Israeli public must be done, and we can not give this disgraceful murderer discounts.”
During a situational assessment on Thursday, Ben-Gvir stated: “As far as I’m concerned, the ruling for this terrorist, like all other terrorists, is death, but he’s still alive we certainly can’t give terrorists rights beyond the basic ones.”

Earlier in the week, Daqa submitted a request for an early release since his days are numbered, a statement that was disproven now that his condition improved.
A decision regarding Daqa’s early release will be made next week.
On Wednesday, the Maasiyahu Prison Parole Board met to discuss the terrorist’s release. The board members heard the claims of both the terrorist’s attorney and the prosecutor’s representative.
After the discussion, the members wrote, “It would be proper to study the facts, the legal claims, and the ruling, and to do so, the trial will be postponed to the May 31st at 8:30 at Maasiyahu Prison.”
During the discussion, Ortal Tamam, Moshe Tamam’s niece, protested outside the prison with other activists.
