Shooting attack near Hebron: IDF soldier wounded during disturbances

An IDF soldier was wounded in a shooting attack in Beit Ummar, near Hebron, early Wednesday morning.
He was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem for treatment.
The IDF Spokesperson”s Unit stated that “a violent disturbance developed a short time ago in Beit Ummar, during which suspects burned tires, threw rocks and threw explosives at an IDF force operating in the area.”
The statement also said that during the disturbance, an IDF soldier was wounded when fire was opened at the force. The soldiers fired back. The soldier received medical treatment in the field and was evacuated to continue receiving treatment at the hospital. His family has been notified.
IDF soldiers are searching the area for suspects.
Disturbances were recorded between Palestinian Arabs and security forces in a number of other locations in Judea and Samaria. In Gush Etzion, Palestinian Arab terrorists fired at Israelis. Clashes were also recorded in the eastern Jerusalem area between Palestinian Arabs and the security forces.
Violent clashes also broke out at Al-Aqsa Mosque overnight Tuesday, during an attempt by police officers to evacuate Muslim worshipers who were holed up in the mosque.
The Israel Police said that clashes broke out between police forces and dozens of young people who barricaded themselves in Al-Aqsa Mosque and tried to disturb the order.
“After attempts to negotiate to remove the worshipers, the forces were forced to enter the compound,” the police said, adding that rocks were thrown at the forces and fireworks were set off, and that dozens of suspects were arrested.
On Tuesday, an IDF soldier was seriously wounded and an additional soldier was lightly wounded in a stabbing attack at the Tzrifin Junction.
During the attack, the terrorist attempted to snatch the weapon belonging to the soldier who was severely wounded. Even though he was wounded, the soldier lay over his weapon during a physical fight with the terrorist, until the terrorist was stopped by civilians who arrived at the scene.
The wounded soldiers were evacuated for further medical treatment.
