Anti-Israel hackers take down Israeli universities’ websites

A series of cyber attacks took down the websites of multiple Israeli universities Tuesday.
A group of hackers called “Anonymous Sudan” claimed credit for the cyber attacks and said the group had acted in response to Israel”s policies vis-&agrave-vis the Palestinian Authority.
“Infrastructure: Universities – Israel education sector has been dropped Because [sic] of what they did in Palestine,” Anonymous Sudan wrote on Telegram.
The distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack targeted the websites of ten different Israeli universities, including Hebrew University, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Haifa University, the Open University, the Weizmann Institute, Tel Aviv University, Bar-Ilan University, The Technion, Reichman University, and Ariel University.
Anonymous Sudan warned that Tuesday”s attack is merely the opening salvo in a broader hacking campaign, dubbed OPIsrael, with a larger cyber attack planned on April 7th.
