Israeli music icon passes away

Israeli singer and actress Racheli Haim died yesterday (Sunday) at the age of 66 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Her funeral will take place today at 16:00 at Yarkon Cemetery.
She leaves behind her husband, the drummer Alon Hillel, and two sons: Yonatan and Gilad, both musicians.

Haim became famous as a singer in the Nahal band. In 1978, the band recorded the song “Umbrella for Two” with to mark the 30th anniversary of the State of Israel.
After her release from the IDF, Haim presented sports programs on Israeli television.
