Border Police officers remove anti-terror protestors by force

Border Police officers were filmed this evening (Sunday) violently removing Israelis who were blocking Palestinian Arab traffic on the road through which the terrorists who murdered Meir Tamari last month escaped.
Footage posted to social media showed the widow of Yevgeny Reider, who was murdered in a shooting attack in 2005, being manhandled by the police.
The commander of the Border Police, Superintendent Amir Cohen, ordered an investigation into the incident. In addition, he ordered that the two officers who were seen in the videos be suspended from operational activity until the conclusion of the investigation.

Earlier, Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir contacted the head of the Border Police to demand an explanation of the officers’ behaviour.
Ben-Gvir said, “There must be equal laws for all – especially for a widow who comes to demonstrate against the ease with which Jewish blood is shed in these areas.”
The right-wing movement “My Israel” commented on the police’s actions as well: “The residents of northern Samaria have been suffering from deadly terrorism in recent times. In light of their very justified demand to bring security and peace, it is unacceptable that they are brutally beaten, certainly not by our police officers. Shame on you.”
