A 12-year-old girl was declared dead on Saturday after being evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva – and the circumstances of her death are not yet clear.
The girl was brought to Magen David Adom (MDA) staff at the entrance to the Bedouin Arab town of Hura in southern Israel, and MDA evacuated her to Soroka while performing CPR. Later, the hospital’s doctors were forced to declare the girl’s death.
Tire marks were discovered on the girl’s body, however, the family claims that the girl was forgotten in a vehicle.
Israel Police have opened an investigation into the matter. In a statement, police said, “We received a report regarding a minor girl who was brought by her father to the town of Hura while she was unconscious. From there she was evacuated by MDA staff to Soroka Medical Center in critical condition, and there her death was declared. The background and the circumstances of the incident are being examined.”
MDA paramedic Sa’ar Shachori said, “We joined up with a vehicle in which lay a young girl, near the gas station at the entrance to Hura. She had no heartbeat and was not breathing, and we immediately began to work to resuscitate her. We brought her into the mobile ICU and evacuated her to the hospital, while continuing acts of resuscitation, as her condition was critical.”
