IDF soldiers on Wednesday evening began an operation in the city of Shechem (Nablus) to demolish the home of one of the terrorists who carried out the attack in which IDF soldier Ido Baruch was murdered, the IDF Spokesperson”s Unit confirmed.
Palestinian Arab sources said the home in question belongs to terrorist Osama Tawil. In April, the head of the IDF Central Command, General Yehuda Fuchs, signed a confiscation and demolition order for Tawil”s home.
According to Palestinian Arab reports, exchanges of gunfire between the soldiers and armed terrorists developed during the IDF operation. The reports said three Arabs were injured, including one seriously.
Baruch, a Givati Reconnaissance Unit soldier, was murdered in a shooting attack in the Ganot interchange adjacent to Shavei Shomron, on October 11, 2022.
Immediately after the attack, the medic who was stationed at the post provided Ido Baruch with initial medical treatment until the arrival of a medical team that eventually evacuated him to a hospital in an effort to save his life. Due to the severity of his injuries, Ido Baruch”s life could not be saved, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
