An opening ceremony of the new Clalit Health Services center was held in Elazar this week.
In attendance were Michael Mishori-Deri, director of Clalit Health Services for the Jerusalem district Shlomo Neeman, Mayor of Gush Etzion and Chairman of the Yesha Council Yaffa Shitrit, director-general of the Gush Etzion Council Eliezer Ben-Attar, secretary of the Elazar community members of the board of Clalit Health Services for the Jerusalem district and employees of the Elazar medical center.
A new, easily accessible, and centrally located health center, was opened to serve Clalit health fund members from Elazar and surrounding communities. The center, which covers an area of approximately 350 square meters , has been highly invested in with a great deal of resources.
Michael Mishori-Deri, the organization’s director for the Jerusalem district said: “I am very happy about the opening of a new medical center in Elazar. As a large health care fund, and a leader in medical quality, Clalit believes in accessible and available professional services. This center is one of several centers in the vicinity of Elazar, and it aims to provide professional medical services that are available for the sake of the wellbeing of patients living in this area.”
The center”s staff includes two medical specialists, Dr Pearl Luber and Dr Ariel Fond two nurses, Daniella Yamin Weijel and Devorah Kopetz and Tzvia Shavei Tzion, who is the center”s administrative director. In addition, there is an orthopedic specialist, Dr Moshe Lipschitz, and two gynecologists, Dr Shira Friedman-Lev and Dr Sarit Malkiel. Gynecological facilities include ultrasound checkups and prenatal care. There is a large, innovative, and well-equipped physiotherapy department run by two physiotherapists, Omrit Ansbacher and Cheftzi Shapira. The center operates five days a week.
Mayor of the Gush Etzion Regional Council and Chairman of the Yesha Council, Shlomo Neeman, said: “Through the initiative of the Elazar community and with the close cooperation of others, we continue to develop services to residents in full force. The new Clalit medical center in Elazar will provide a wide range of services to Clalit members in the nearby Gush communities, including Efrat. Services will include specialists in family and internal medicine, gynecological services, ultrasounds and prenatal care, orthopedics, a nurses” clinic, and cooperation with clinics in the other communities. We thank Clalit Health Services and the Elazar leadership committee for the initiative. This is good news for residents, and together in cooperation we will continue to enhance services to our residents.”
Dr Michal Ronen, Clalit director of the Judea and Samaria region in the Jerusalem district, summarized by saying, “We are glad to be opening the Elazar medical center, which is privileged to have an excellent staff, and we are proud of the wonderful cooperation that exists between all medical teams in Clalit clinics in Gush Etzion, in that it offers wider options for the residents of Elazar – beyond the services provided by the clinic closer to their homes. Moreover, as part of the importance Clalit attributes to providing all-inclusive quality medical services, we will be having care days for diabetes patients, which includes eye examinations with an ophthalmologist who will come especially to the clinic for this purpose, diabetic foot exams given by the nurse, consultations with a pharmacist who will come especially to advise about taking medication, and exercise classes for seniors ages 55 and over, and ages 70 and over. This is all for the purpose of doing as much as possible for the sake of our patients” health.”
The medical center is situated on Beit Zecharia Street at ground level.
