22 killed in deadly Russian strike on Ukrainian apartment complex

Russia launched an early morning missile attack on a block of apartments in Uman, Ukraine on Friday, killing 22 people including children, according to CNN.
The attack was condemned by the international community.
It occurred at around 4 a.m. local time and consisted of multiple cruise missiles launched from Russian planes in the Caspian Sea, the Ukrainian Air Force reported. However, 21 of the 23 Russian missiles were intercepted by Ukraine”s air defense system, Kyiv claimed.
Uman, around 125 miles south of Kyiv, was targeted with two rockets that hit three high-rise buildings.
Ukraine”s Internal Affairs Minister described one of the buildings having 27 of its 46 apartments destroyed by the attack.

At least three children were among the casualties, CNN said, citing local officials.
Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy said in a tweet that two children have not been identified.
The attack on Uman by Russian Kh-101 cruise missiles had the highest number of civilian casualties since a missile hit an apartment in Dnipro in January.
