IDF, Israel Police and Israel Border Police forces on Wednesday night thwarted a weapons smuggling attempt in the area around the southern Dead Sea.
The forces confiscated 63 handguns, along with ammunition, and apprehended an individual suspected of carrying out the smuggling in his vehicle.
The suspect, vehicle and weapons were transferred to the Israel Police for further processing.

On Sunday, IDF surveillance detected two vehicles and suspicious movements near the Jewish community of Neve Or in the Jordan Valley.
IDF soldiers were rushed to the scene and seized a vehicle containing three suspects carrying 15 handguns.
The suspects, their vehicle, and weapons were transferred for further processing by the police.
