Defense Minister Yoav Gallant this afternoon (Thursday) paid a condolence visit to the Dee family in Efrat, following the murder of Lucy Dee and her daughters Maia and Rina in a terrorist shooting attack last Friday.
Gallant told the family that immediately after the shooting attack in the Jordan Valley, he visited the scene to understand the details of the attack and to speak to the security forces who are continuing to hunt for the terrorists.
“The strength of spirit shown by the family members, the father Leo and the children Tali, Keren and Yehuda, in the most difficult hours, inspire admiration for the strength of the Jewish and Zionist faith that they express,” said the Minister of Defense as he left the family home. “The security system will catch the terrorists and those who sent them and bring them to justice,” Gallant promised.
MK Benny Gantz and MK Hili Tropper of the National Unity party also arrived at the Dee family home today. Earlier, President Isaac Herzog and his wife Michal consoled the family. President Herzog and his wife spoke with Rabbi Leo Dee and the children Keren, Tal and Yehuda, and heard from the family about their murdered family members and the huge void that has been left in the wake of their loss.
The family, together with Efrat Mayor Oded Revivi thanked the president and said that “the visit and the spirit of unity that the president is leading are a ray of light during these days.”
