Knesset Speaker Ohana: ‘Leo Dee restored our pride in the Israeli flag’

יו”ר הכנסת אמיר אוחנה מארח הערב (רביעי) לראשונה את המימונה במשכן הכנסת.
Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana spoke with Israel National News on Wednesday evening and gave praise to the family of Lucy, Maia, and Rina Dee, who were murdered in a terror attack last Friday in the Jordan Valley.
“We can learn a lot from the family of Lucy Dee, who was laid to rest beside her daughters, Maia and Rina. I heard Rabbi Leo Dee, who restored all of our pride in the Israeli flag, his message being: let us concentrate on what there is and what we’ve achieved in the 75 years of the state’s existence, and not on what’s missing, the arguments and the divide,” the Speaker stated.
The comments were made during the Mimouna celebration at the Knesset, the first of its kind hosted by Speaker Ohana. Mimouna is a celebration brought over by immigrants from North Africa, celebrated after the Passover holiday.
“For the first time in the history of the Knesset, we are celebrating Mimouna and are hoping the house to all so that the people of Israel can end Passover in sweetness.”
He adds, “I think that the nicest part about Mimouna is that during Passover, it wasn’t customary to host one another because people feared hametz (leavened products), and immediately once the holiday was over, people opened their doors, hosted and were hosted, and the message is: we are all brothers.”
