IDF concludes initial inquiry in murder of US citizen Elan Ganeles

Today (Tuesday), the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, visited the Jordan Valley Brigade and conducted an initial inquiry into the operational incidents that occurred recently in the Central Command, Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley.
As part of the inquiry, the Commanding Officer of the Jordan Valley Brigade, COL Meir Biderman, presented the main lessons drawn from yesterday”s (Monday) terrorist attack, in which the late Elan Ganeles was murdered.
IDF soldiers continue in their pursuit of the terrorists who carried out the attacks in Huwara and the Jordan Valley, in addition to training, defending, and conducting counterterrorism activities.

The four battalions assigned to the Judea and Samaria Division as reinforcements are continuing their activities along the Judea and Samaria security barrier.
Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, said: “These recent incidents and terrorist attacks have taken a heavy toll on us, and we are examining and studying them. We will thwart terrorism of any kind and continue to operate, using all operational and intelligence means to capture the terrorists. The IDF is responsible for maintaining security in Judea and Samaria. The violent riots that occurred in Huwara following the attack will also be thoroughly investigated.”
