I say last, but unfortunately I have to add: in the meantime. In recent months, we at the State Comptroller’s Office have been working on a report regarding the security of the roads in Judea and Samaria.”

He added that “the duty of a government is first and foremost to protect its citizens. As part of the report, we are examining the issue of manning and the removal of the barriers between areas A, B and C. We will examine the decision-making process on the subject and whether this issue has been re-examined from time to time due to the changing security reality In the area. In addition, we will examine the response to the incidents of terrorism by the security forces and from the perspective of the residents.”
Englman noted that the report was also considering “whether the security forces had mapped out the red zones in Judea and Samaria, the existence and implementation of plans to protect the zones and the nearby towns, and whether the deployed forces are sufficient in terms of personnel and equipment, gaps in cellular coverage in the risk areas and other aspects.”
He noted that the report on the subject will be published within a few months.
