Dozens of masked Arabs from the village of Burka threw stones this evening (Sunday) at Israeli vehicles on their way to the town of Homesh. The event ended without casualties or damage.
There has recently been a significant increase in the number of stone-throwing attacks on the way to Homesh. A few days ago, two Israelis were moderately injured in the same place and were evacuated for medical treatment. The medical forces that arrived at the scene were also attacked with stones. IDF forces repelled the rioters with crowd control munitions.
Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, says that “clearly, the terrorist Palestinian Authority is trying to incite tensions in the area. A heavy hand must be used to prevent a flare-up.”
He says, “The Arab terrorists are trying again and again to harm the Israeli citizens who have finally returned home after five years. The State of Israel must not stand by.”
“We support the students of the Homesh Yeshiva, the IDF soldiers, and the security system. The IDF should deliver a decisive blow that will crush the attempt at incitement,” he concluded.
