Police forced to remove violent protesters from MK’s speech

Activists from the “Ahim Laneshek” organization, who oppose the proposed judicial reform, disrupted a speech given by Economy Minister Nir Barkat (Likud) at an economic conference in the southern city of Sderot.
Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi told the protesters, “I would be very happy to see you protesting when they launch missiles and rockets at us. Stop being so violent and get out of here.”

He added, “We already had elections, the elections are over. Please, thank you very much, I really appreciate it. This is the greatest embarrassment – using a conference which aims to strengthen the city of Sderot, and hijacking it for your own personal needs, for your own political views. Protest outside. Wait outside.”
“We love everyone,” he emphasized. “Please go outside. You also harmed property… I ask that this conference not be used for political views.”
Police officers arriving at the scene removed the protesters. Three people were arrested.
