Israel sends food, water to Ukraine after dam attack

Israel has sent over 200,000 liters of drinking water and ten tons of food to the Kherson region of Ukraine after the region was flooded following the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam, Israel’s Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky announced Monday.
“Israel is providing substantial humanitarian assistance to the people of #Kherson following the deliberate destruction of #KakhovkaDam. @IsraelinUkraine and @MASHAVisrael have sent to the area above 200,000 liters of drinking water and about 10 tons of canned food. The assistance will be distributed by the local authorities and volunteers,” Ambassador Brodsky tweeted.
The Kakhova Dam in southern Ukraine was destroyed about a week ago in a suspected Russian attack, leading to an environmental disaster as large amounts of water flowed down the Dnieper River.. At least three people are confirmed to have been killed in the subsequent flooding, and hundreds of people have been evacuated from their homes.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Sunday night that the International Criminal Court has begun investigating the bombing of the Kakhovka Dam.
The attack on the dam comes nearly a year-and-a-half into the Ukraine-Russia war, which began when Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
