IDF, Shin Bet and Border Police forces conducted counterterrorism activities in Judea and Samaria overnight, as part of an ongoing crackdown on terrorism.
The forces apprehended a wanted suspect in the town of Qabatiya. During the activity, assailants opened fire at IDF soldiers from a vehicle. The soldiers responded with live fire toward the two assailants and killed them.
The soldiers located and confiscated an M-16 rifle and a handgun in the possession of the assailants. Furthermore, gunshots were heard in the area and suspects hurled explosive devices at the forces. During the activity in the city of Tulkarm, a wanted suspect was apprehended and armed gunmen fired at the forces, who responded with live fire.
The forces also operated in the towns of Osarin, Urif, Beitut and Huwara and apprehended 10 suspects. During the activity in the town of Urif, a large number of weapons were located and confiscated. In the town of Beitut, suspects hurled rocks at the forces. IDF soldiers located and confiscated a hunting rifle and ammunition in the city of Hebron.
IDF soldiers apprehended three wanted suspects in the city of Bethlehem and the towns of Surif and Sa’ir.
During the activity in the towns of Halhul, Sa’ir, Beit Ummar and the city of Bethlehem, suspects hurled rocks, glass bottles and blocks, and fired fireworks at the forces, who responded with riot dispersal means.
In addition, the forces operated in the towns of Tubas and Aqabat Jaber and apprehended two wanted suspects. During the activity in the town of Tubas, armed gunmen fired at the forces, who responded with live fire.
The wanted suspects were transferred to security forces for further questioning.
