Rabbi Menashe Hadad, principal of the central Tomchei Temimim yeshivas in Israel and one of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement’s most prominent businessmen, passed away on Saturday, Kikar Hashabbat reported.
Rabbi Hadad was born in Tunis in 1950, and immigrated to Israel with his family when he was eight years old. The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn, advised and guided him during the period from when he was a young man until he married.
After his marriage, Rabbi Hadad began working as an educator in the Chabad boys elementary school in Lod, and slowly worked his way up to the position of school principal, and from there he went on to become principal of yeshivas.
Rabbi Hadad passed away at age 73.
His funeral will be held Saturday night in Kfar Chabad, and hundreds of students from Lod and Kfar Chabad yeshivas are expected to attend.
Rabbi Hadad is survived by his children, several of which are Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries around the world, including two of whom are emissaries in Thailand.
