On Wednesday, the Israel Dog Unit (IDU), a nonprofit specializing in search and rescue, held a special dog show at the Shimshon Farm near Beit Shemesh for hundreds of foreigners studying in Israel. The demonstration was part of a series of events intended to help the students learn more about Israel.
Some of the students who participated showed interest in the possibility of immigrating to Israel and enlisting as volunteers in the IDU.
IDU director Yekutiel Ben-Yaakov commented: “We were happy to appear in front of the students and impart knowledge that could be used to save human lives, and we were pleasantly surprised when some of the students expressed a desire to immigrate to Israel and take part in the unit’s activities.”
