In honor of Israel’s 75th Independence Day, El Al airplane crews are serving special meals based on Israel’s most iconic food: falafel.
El Al chef Assaf Granit has created a special menu for this day, with the assistance of Israel’s largest falafel chain, “Falafel be’Ribua” (Falafel in the Square). Passengers on selected El Al flights will be served with a choice of three different falafel-based meals: “classic” falafel, Persian-style falafel flavored with lemon and herbs, and falafel with mango and bhaharat spice mixture.
The meals are being served with all the usual trimmings such as mixed chopped salad, pickles, tahini, and fries.
Furthermore, the cabins of El Al flights are all decorated with Israeli flags, and a large selection of Israeli-themed movies are being offered on-flight.
