Chief rabbi visits family of terror victims

Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi David Lau on Monday morning paid a condolence visit to the Dee family in Efrat, following the murder of mother Lucy Dee and daughters Rina and Maia earlier this month.
During the visit, Rabbi Lau spoke with Rabbi Leo Dee, the family’s father, Lucy’s parents, and other members of the family.

On Sunday night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid a condolence call to the Dee family.
Following the call, Rabbi Dee shared, “It was a great comfort to see Bibi [Netanyahu]. He talked about the mourning that he did for his brother and the feelings that you go through. A lot of the time that we spent with him was discussing that, and I think it was a great comfort to the kids and myself in explaining the feelings that we might experience.”
He added, “I obviously would like them (the terrorists – ed.) to be captured and to be treated with full justice that they deserve, but mostly to stop them from doing anything like this every again.”
“Nothing is going to bring back our beloved Lucy and Maia and Rina. My focus is very much on the future, for us and for Am Yisrael – and not to focus on a couple of people who come from a damaged culture and have no future.”
