Galon on terror attack: ‘It’s difficult to uproot Palestinian motivation for terror’

Former Meretz Chairperson Zehava Galon mentioned in an internal party group the Sunday afternoon terror attack in Huwara, which killed Hillel and Yagel Yaniv.
“I wish to start with the shocking terror attack which occurred a few hours ago. Two young people were murdered. What is being done to prevent the next attack?” Galon was asked.
Her answer: “When we see that the government legalizes illegal outposts in the settlements, we are witnessing a new construction boom in the settlements, despite the agreement with the Americans, we see the operations in Jenin and Shechem (Nablus), and the large number of Palestinians who are killed, I admit that it’s difficult to uproot the motivation for terrorism in a population that is in such a situation,” Galon answered.
According to her, “Nearly 57 years of occupation, people live under Israeli control and the despondence of these people who we trample every day, turns into hate and terrifying violence in the end only a diplomatic solution and ending the occupation, there are no forceful solutions against people who have nothing to lose.”
As reported, earlier on Sunday, a Palestinian Arab terrorist opened fire at a car in the village of Huwara in Samaria, killing its driver and passenger, brothers Hillel and Yagel Yaniv, from the town of Har Bracha.
